Ken Horton scored 23 points and had nine rebounds to lead Central Connecticut State past Mount St. Mary's 71-66 on Thursday night.

Horton was 7 of 13 from the field and knocked down 9 of his 11 free throw attempts.

Mount St. Mary's (3-13, 1-4 Northeast Conference) led 30-26 before a Kyle Vinales 3-pointer sparked a 10-0 Blue Devils run over the final three minutes of the first half.

Central Connecticut State (8-7, 5-0) continued its run in the second half, extending its 36-30 halftime lead to 14 points, 48-34, with 14:10 left to play.

Mount St. Mary's narrowed the lead to 69-66 but Central Connecticut State held the Mountaineers scoreless over the final two minutes.

Vinales and Robby Ptacek chipped in with 14 apiece for the Blue Devils.

Kristijan Krajina led Mount St. Mary's with 16 points.
