Cal State Bakersfield beats Seattle 71-61 in OT

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Aly Ahmed scored 21 points, hauled in 12 rebounds and sank the go-ahead free throw in overtime to lead Cal State Bakersfield to a 71-61 win over Seattle on Saturday night.

Seattle (10-10, 3-3 WAC) forced overtime with William Powell's layup to tie it at 74 with 10 seconds left in regulation, and quickly took the lead with a 3-pointer from Emerson Murray to open the extra period.

But then Bakersfield (8-14, 3-3) poured in 11 consecutive points, including seven from Kevin Mays and Ahmed's go-ahead free throw, to make it 65-57 with 37 seconds left. The Roadrunners padded their advantage with 6-for-6 shooting from the line to clinch the win.

Javonte Maynor contributed 11 points and Mays finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Bakersfield.

Powell led Seattle with 16 points, Murray finished with 11 while grabbing 10 rebounds and Jadon Cohee had 10 points.
