Brock Zylstra scored 17 points and BYU used its long-range shooting for an 82-63 victory against San Diego on Monday night.

The Cougars (16-4, 5-1 West Coast) won a fifth straight game since dropping their inaugural WCC opener at Saint Mary's. Charles Abouo and Matt Carlino added 14 points each and Brandon Davies had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Dennis Kramer tied his career high with 15 points for San Diego (6-11, 1-4). Johnny Dee added 12 points and Christopher Anderson 11.

Zylstra had a quiet first half but hit a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining to give the Cougars a 37-29 halftime lead. The junior hit 4 of 6 shots from 3-point range in the second half as the Cougars took control.

BYU, which beat San Diego 88-52 at home on Dec. 31, finished 11 of 24 from 3-point range.
