Calvin Betts sank only one shot all night, but his 3-pointer 28 seconds into the game put Buffalo ahead for good in a 58-49 victory over Eastern Michigan on Thursday. Betts took five shots in his 25 minutes, all from 3-point range. Fellow Bulls guard Rodney Pierce shot 6-for-10 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line to score 16 points. Buffalo's Andy Robinson and Vadim Fedotov added nine points each, while Greg Gamble had eight points and eight rebounds. The Bulls (17-5, 9-1 Mid-American) led 34-24 at halftime and outshot the Eagles 44 percent (21-for-48) to 36 percent (16-45) for the game. Buffalo also had a 35-26 rebounding edge. Brandon Bowdry had 11 points and nine rebounds for Eastern Michigan (3-21, 1-9). Justin Dobbins added 10 points and L.J. Frazier had nine.
