Freshman Sean McGonagill scored a career-high 39 points and Brown snapped a three-game losing streak with an 87-79 win over Columbia.

McGonagill's effort tied the Pizzitola Sports Center scoring record and helped Brown (8-11, 1-4 Ivy League) snap a four-game losing streak in the series.

The lead changed hands seven times before Adrian Williams hit a 3-pointer with 5:34 to play to put Brown ahead to stay at 72-69.

Williams added 20 points and Dockery Walker had a career-high 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Bears, who shot 60.7 percent (34 of 56) from the field.

Brown entered the game averaging 68.8 points per game, but has scored at least 84 points in each of the past four wins.

Ansenso Ampim scored 19 points, Meiko Lyles added 14 and Mark Cisco 11 for the Lions (12-9, 3-2), who lost for the second time in the past three games.
