Arkansas-Little Rock edges South Alabama 62-58

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) Josh Hagins scored eight points in the final 90 seconds, leading Arkansas-Little Rock to a 62-58 win over South Alabama on Saturday.

A Hagins' layup capped an 11-0 run, putting UALR (12-10, 7-3 Sun Belt Conference) up 18-6 halfway through the first period. Hagins' scored four more points closing out the first half, bumping the Trojans to a 30-22 halftime lead.

In the second period, South Alabama (7-14, 1-7) rallied for a 13-2 run, taking a 43-40 lead with 12:51 remaining.

Neither team could shake the other down the stretch until a Hagins' 3-pointer and three free throws put UALR up 59-56.

With 15 seconds remaining, the Jaguars scored inside but still trailed by one point. Hagins (18 points) made two more from the penalty stripe going into the buzzer, assuring the win.

Augustine Rubit and Antoine Allen scored 14 each for the Jaguars. UALR's Will Neighbour scored 23 points.
