Albany 12 of 19 from 3-point range to beat Colgate 88-67

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Ray Sanders went 6 for 6 from 3-point range and scored a career-high 24 points to lead Albany to an 88-67 win over Colgate on Thursday night.

Evan Singletary added 21 points for the Great Danes (1-2), who shot 53 percent including a scorching 12 of 19 from 3-point range.

Austin Tillotson had 17 points, Dave Krmpotich 15 and Jordan Swopshire 14 for the Raiders (1-2).

Albany led 43-30 at the half and when Sanders hit a step-back 3 to match his career-high with 19 points with 14:04 to play, the Great Danes led 53-33. Sanders also had six rebounds, a career-high five steals and three assists. He finished 8 of 10 from the field.

Sanders and Singletary combined for 17 points as Albany took a 20-14 lead and then the Danes had a late 11-0 surge to build the 13-point halftime lead.
