Adeyeye leads Jacksonville over Florida Gulf Coast 78-69

FORT MEYERS, Fla. (AP) Josh Adeyeye scored a career-high 35 points to lead Jacksonville to a 78-69 win over Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday night.

Adeyeye finished with 13-of-21 shooting from the field including six 3-pointers for the Dolphins (12-11, 4-2 Atlantic Sun Conference). Kori Babineaux added 21 points with five rebounds and six assists. The team averaged 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 58.3 percent from the line.

Adeyeye sank a pair of 3-pointers early in the first half to help Jacksonville to a 15-5 start and the Dolphins led 36-27 at halftime.

He drained another pair of treys early in the second half to extend Jacksonville's advantage to 42-31 with 17:03 to play. The Eagles (13-9, 4-2) surged 12-5 on four 3-pointers in the final 42 seconds but fell short as time expired.

Marc Eddy Norelia scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for FGCU.
