Brazil learns from Carnival ahead of 2014 WCup

Brazil’s Carnival was not just about partying, drinking and

samba dancing.

The country’s huge Carnival celebrations this week also provided

key lessons for World Cup organizers trying to prepare the nation

for soccer’s showcase event in two years.

With locals and tourists jamming many of the World Cup host

cities, Carnival allowed authorities to evaluate the new

infrastructure improvements, public safety programs and medical

services.

Millions of tourists traveled the country for the festival, just

like they will do during the World Cup in 2014.
