Rory McIlroy offered Tiger Woods words of encouragement and support after Woods’ grim golfing future outlook during a news conference Tuesday.

The injured Woods, who said he has yet to start rehabilitation from his latest back procedure, said there was no timetable yet for his golf return.

"The hardest part for me is there’s really nothing I can look forward to, nothing I can build toward," Woods, who will turn 40 this month, said.

Rory McIlroy, 26, was quick to respond to his friend/competitor in an effort to bolster spirits.

"Wishing my idol and friend a speedy recovery," the world’s No. 3 golfer posted in an Instagram post. The 26-year-old from Northern Ireland went on to say "Golf without him doesn’t bear thinking about. Hope to see you back on the course soon."
