Robert Allenby will hold a news conference Tuesday at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Allenby, in the field for this week’s PGA Tour event at TPC Scottsdale, is less than two weeks removed from a scare in Honolulu. He reportedly was kidnapped, beaten and robbed outside of a wine bar after missing the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Allenby withdrew from last week’s Humana Challenge, but returns to action facing questions about what exactly happened on the evening of Jan. 16 and in the early hours of Jan. 17.

Several witnesses have contradicted Allenby’s claims and Honolulu police are investigating the incident as a second-degree robbery, not as an assault or kidnapping.
