Impact Lewis finished Tuesday's game with his first touchdown of 2023. Since returning from injury, his number of carries and rushing yards have gradually improved. With how well Lewis is playing, the remainder of his 2023 season proves promising, at least for now.

Logan Smothers - Completes pass Smothers (ankle) completed one pass for four yards during Jacksonville State's 20-17 win Tuesday against Western Kentucky.

Impact Despite spraining his ankle against Liberty on Oct. 10, Smothers did not have to sit out any games. The college junior has 875 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns across 2023. Ideally for Smothers, he can replace Zion Webb as Jacksonville State's starting quarterback again.

Impact This was unexpected. Prior to this, Wells had one target all season. This is likely a fluke.

Zion Webb - Rushes for TD Webb went 22-for-39 for 218 yards and an interception against WKU on Tuesday. He also ran 28 times for 146 yards and a score.

Impact Webb was dealing with a concussion since JSU's last game, but he was able to play. This was his best game throwing the ball, and also running the ball. Now, his passing numbers aren't good, but apparently he did enough to keep Logan Smothers on the bench and be the clear choice at quarterback.

Impact This is Smith's first touchdown since the season opener, and his first since he returned from injury. There was some thought Smith might be the number-two option behind Malachi Corley this season, but that has not proved to be true thus far.
