Impact Burgess has three games with at least three catches and 30 yards, so he can contribute through the air. Deion Hankins has been getting more carries recently, but Burgess is still getting double-digit touches every game, because the passing offense is highly limited.

Completing less than half of your passes against NMSU and contributing no touchdowns is not going to keep McConnell in the job long.

Impact Stowers, the backup quarterback when the season began, seems to be fully in the role of receiver now. So far, it is working for him. He had six catches for 57 yards last week, and he led the Aggies in catches and receiving yards in this one.

Impact Whitford was responsible for both receiving scores for the Aggies, which is a surprise. These are the tight end's first two touchdowns of the season, and also his first game in five outings where he had more than one reception.

Impact This is Watkins' first 100-yard game, and he is a big-play back. He's averaged 11.9 yards per carry. The problem, of course, is that he has touched the ball 42 times total in eight games, and that includes seven receptions.
