Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs. New Mexico State Aggies - News: Oct 16, 2024

FINAL / 2OT
Donerio Davenport - DNP for Tuesday game Davenport (undisclosed) did not play during Louisiana Tech's 33-30 loss Tuesday at New Mexico State.
Impact Once again, Louisiana Tech's team not using Davenport during one of its games resulted in Amani Givens updating his 2024 high for rushing attempts (10) and yards per carry (5.7).

Jimmy Holiday - Tallies 33 yards receiving Holiday caught four passes for 33 yards and ran three times for six yards against NMSU on Tuesday.
Impact Tru Edwards has emerged as a receiver who has quite pleased La Tech fans and the fantasy minded, but Holiday has not really succeeded as a number-two receiver. In fact, through six games he has 109 yards through the air and 76 yards on the ground.

TJ Pride - FInds end zone Pride caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown versus La Tech on Tuesday. He also lost a fumble.
Impact Pride is a true freshman, and this is his first collegiate touchdown. While he has 20 catches on the season and seems to be the number-one receiver already, this passing offense has really struggled, and expecting a true freshman to elevate this offense would be a bit foolhardy.

Mike Washington - Rushes for TD Washington ran eight times for 23 yards and a touchdown against La Tech on Tuesday.
Impact Washington left it late to provide value to the Aggies, as his touchdown came in double overtime. His other three touchdowns all game against New Mexico, which is a poor defense, so overall production has not really been there.

Seth McGowan - Totals over 90 yards McGowan ran 17 times for 66 yards and caught two passes for 25 yards versus La Tech on Tuesday.
Impact On the one hand, McGowan gets the most touches of any NMSU player, he's averaged 5.0 yards per carry, and he's added 89 yards in receiving yards. On the other hand, he hasn't scored a touchdown since NMSU's second game, so the touches have only yielded so much production.

Brandon Nunez - Leads NMSU to win with legs Nunez went 4-for-7 for 49 yards and ran six times for 30 yards and two touchdowns against La Tech on Tuesday.
Impact Nunez was way down the depth chart and was not expected to see any playing time this season. However, Deuce Hogan was lost for the season due to injury, and both Parker Awad and Santino Marucci proved insufficient for the job. Nunez stepped in and led the Aggies to a win. That should earn him a start.

Parker Awad - Throws TD, loses gig again Awad went 11-for-22 for 155 yards and a touchdown against La Tech on Tuesday. He also ran four times for 23 yards.
Impact Santino Marucci had replaced the struggling Awad, but he struggled even more, earning Awad another shot. The NMSU staff evidently did not want to have much patience with a quarterback who has completed 43.0 percent of his passes and averaged 5.6 yards per attempt. Brandon Nunez, who was buried down the depth chart, not only saw action, but led the Aggies to a win. There's a good chance Nunez gets his first start in NMSU's next game against FIU.
