Committed to Marshall
Wilcox has committed to play for Marshall for the 2026 season, per The Herd Scoop.
Impact
Wilcox will join the Thundering Herd following two seasons with Kentucky. The 5-foot-10 running back did not play in a game for the Wildcats in 2025 but ran for 590 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 6.4 YPC as a freshman in 2024. He will retain three years of eligibility with Marshall moving forward.

Plans to enter portal
Wilcox (not injury related) plans to enter the NCAA's transfer portal, Adam Luckett of On3.com reports.
Impact
Wilcox will look to put 2025 behind him, and the year saw him not play any games. The running back's departure leaves Kentucky with barely several backfield options remaining.

Officially ruled out
Wilcox (not injury related) won't play in Week 2 against Ole Miss.
Impact
Wilcox also missed the opener, and he'll continue to ride the bench for the Wildcats into Week 2 of the 2025 campaign. In the meantime, Seth McGowan and Dante Dowdell should continue to lead Kentucky's backfield.

Questionable to play in Week 2
Wilcox (not injury related) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Ole Miss.
Impact
Even though an earlier report suggested that Wilcox was going to be out, the questionable tag suggests a decision on his status will be made closer to Saturday's 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

Appears slated to remain out
Wilcox (not injury related) looks as though he'll continue to miss time for Kentucky, per Ryan Black of The Manhattan Mercury.
Impact
Wilcox didn't play in the opener as he sits out for violating team rules. Asked about his tailback again in a Monday presser, Wildcats' head coach Mark Stoops said "I don't have anything (on him). The status has not changed." That certainly makes it sound like he'll be unavailable for Week 2 against Ole Miss.

ROTOWIRE
Out after violating team rules
Wilcox didn't play in the Week 1 matchup against Toledo on Saturday after violating the team's rules, head coach Mark Stoops told Jeff Drummond of Rivals.com.
Impact
The issue that caused Wilcox to sit out the season opener is uncertain, and it's unclear whether the running back will be available to play in the Week 2 matchup against UMass. The absence of Wilcox means Jason Patterson could be in line to see more snaps out of the backfield, but always behind Seth McGowan and Dante Dowdell in the pecking order.

Runs wild in laugher
Wilcox compiled 13 carries for 123 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 48-6 win over Murray State.
Impact
Wilcox went over the 100-yard rushing plateau for the second-straight contest, while scoring for the second time in three contests. Wilcox is demanding carries over teammate Demio Sumo-Karngbaye with these performances, though the latter still rushed 11 times for 48 yards and a touchdown in the rout. It will be interesting to see how carries are divvied up next weekend, though neither back is likely to have much success at Texas.

Set for big role Saturday
Wilcox is set to start Saturday's game versus Auburn, Aaron Gershon of 247Sports reports.
Impact
With both Chip Trayanum (ankle) and Demie Sumo-Karngbaye (undisclosed) out, Wilcox will start at running back for the Wildcats. The redshirt freshman has rushed 32 times for 224 yards this season, an impressive seven yards per carry. Jason Patterson also figures to see some work.

ROTOWIRE
Ready to roll in Week 2
Wilcox (undisclosed) isn't listed on Kentucky's injury report for Week 2.
Impact
Wilcox was considered probable earlier in the week, so this isn't all that surprising. The running back logged two carries for eight yards in the opener, but has dealt with an undisclosed issue since then. However, he appears to be good to go and should continue to be a rotational piece in the Wildcats' backfield.

ROTOWIRE
Probable for Week 2
Wilcox (undisclosed) is probable for the Week 2 matchup against South Carolina on Saturday.
Impact
Wilcox logged two carries for eight yards in the season opener against Southern Miss, and while the details of his injury haven't been disclosed, it doesn't seem as if he'll have a hard time seeing touches out of the backfield. Even if healthy, he'll face competition to see a steady role, so his fantasy upside will be limited.

Could be leaned on a lot early
Wilcox could be leaned on a lot for carries early into Kentucky's 2024 season, Jack Pilgrim of On3.com reports.
Impact
Not even half a week ago, per Aaron Gershon of 247Sports.com, Kentucky's head coach Mark Stoops publicized his running backs potentially being used via committee. With its lead Chip Trayanum (hand) out at least a game or two, UK would have to rely more on the committee's other members, which also includes Wilcox. He has had "a great fall camp" in Gershon's words, so the running back getting increased opportunities is undoubtedly possible.
