Jacksonville State Gamecocks vs. Florida International Panthers - News: Nov 22, 2025

FIU
6-5
Alex Perry - First 100-yard game Perry caught four passes for 109 yards and a touchdown against JSU on Saturday.
Impact The FIU is offense is simple. Kejon Owens runs the ball whenever possible, and when the team has to pass it usually goes in Perry's direction. He didn't do much in the first two games, but in the nine games since then he's had 41 catches on 72 targets for 644 yards and seven touchdowns.

Kejon Owens - Over 100 yards with a TD Owens ran 21 times for 135 yards and a touchdown and added two catches for 18 yards versus JSU on Saturday.
Impact While FIU's three-game win streak coincides with Joe Pesansky stepping in to start at quarterback, in all those games Owens has paced the offense. That's been the case all season, frankly. Owens stuck it out at FIU for a fifth season and has been rewarded with 190 carries that he's turned into 1,159 yards and 11 scores.

Joe Pesansky - Two TDs, two INTs Pesansky went 14-for-28 for 196 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions against JSU on Saturday. He also ran 11 times for 40 yards.
Impact That's three wins in three starts for Pesansky, which has gotten the Panthers to bowl eligibility. While you can't claim the Holy Cross transfer was "good" in this game, one is left to wonder what might have been for FIU had he started over Keyone Jenkins all season.

Pearson Baldwin - Catches TD Baldwin caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown Saturday against FIU.
Impact This is the tight end's first touchdown of the season. He's had some notable games for his position, but he's been held under 15 receiving yards seven times in 11 games.

Deondre Johnson - Another TD Johnson caught three passes for 49 yards and a score against FIU on Saturday.
Impact Johnson is on quite the run, as he is on a four-game touchdown streak. That's notable, given that over the first seven games of the season he totaled five receptions.

Cam Cook - 100 yards, touchdown, the usual Cook ran 25 times for 138 yards and a touchdown and added two catches for 46 yards versus FIU on Saturday. He also lost a fumble.
Impact This was an inopportune time for Cook to have his first lost fumble, as the Gamecocks were upset 27-21. Still, Cook deserves nothing but plaudits for his season. He's now up to 1,451 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. Cook has even added 232 yards through the air.

Caden Creel - Best day through the air Creel went 17-for-30 for 198 yards and two touchdowns against FIU on Saturday. He also ran 19 times for 100 yards, but lost a fumble.
Impact Creel may be kicking himself over that lost fumble, as the Gamecocks were upset 27-21 in a big conference game. While Creel is not usually this productive through the air - this is his first game with multiple passing touchdowns - he has rushed for over 100 yards five times.
