Now is not the time to send Bob Stoops a Facebook invite

NORMAN, Okla. - A lot was made last week when Texas players went back and forth at each other through Twitter.

One Texas player even sent out a Tweet during the game.

Now, after Oklahoma lost to Texas 24-17 at the Cotton Bowl, Stoops said he was encouraging players to avoid social media.

Well, sort of.

"I got no idea about it," Stoops said of his involvement with Twitter, Facebook, etc. "I could care less. You think for a second I look at that? I know if I was their age, I wouldn't be reading it. For the life of me, I don't get the attraction."

It's probably a good week to keep Twitter turned off, anyway. OU came into the game ranked No. 10 in the nation and an 18-point favorite over the 1-4 Longhorns.

It was the second time in the past three years OU has lost as a double-digit favorite to Texas.
