Florida puts 3 on NFCA All-America first team

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Florida pitchers Kelly Barnhill, Delanie Gourley and outfielder Amanda Lorenz were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association first-team All-Americans on Wednesday.

Florida is the top-seeded team heading into the Women's College World Series, which starts Thursday.

Barnhill, USA Softball's National Player of the Year, has a 24-3 record. The sophomore leads the nation with a 0.36 ERA and ranks in the top 10 in shutouts and strikeouts. Gourley, a senior, has a 21-4 record and ranks fourth nationally with a 0.67 ERA.

Six first-teamers will play at the WCWS. The others are LSU outfielder Bailey Landry, LSU utility player Sahvanna Jaquish and Oregon at-large selection Nikki Udria.

Defending national champion Oklahoma had three second-teamers - first baseman Shay Knighten, second baseman Caleigh Clifton and pitcher Paige Parker.
