After a five goal break out against the Toronto Maple Leafs, it seems like the New York Islanders secondary scoring is starting to show.

After a slow start to the season the New York Islanders offense exploded against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Could this be a sign of the Islanders turning it around offensively? Brian Erni, certainly thinks so.

Shane Prince has looked really good now in his first two games back and can be expected to be a mainstay in the Islanders lineup. He now has two goals in two games. He has seemed to pick up right where he left off in last year’s playoffs.

He’s not the only one, Brock Nelson has gotten off to a great start early on. Josh Bailey looks like 2014-15 Josh Bailey who put up 41 points, Ryan Strome has looked more comfortable this year and rookie Anthony Beauvillier has shown positives signs early on as well.

The Islanders would obviously like more offense out of Jason Chimera and Andrew Ladd, but they’ve gotten out to very slow starts. Concerned is one thing, but writing them off not even ten games into the season as bad signings isn’t fair either. Expect them to turn it around.

The offense is the biggest issue with this team. If they can remotely figure this thing out they can be in pretty good shape. The next step would be the power play but lets take it one step at a time.

Victims or sore losers? (Eyes On Isles)

Johnny Boychuk was unhappy about a Sidney Crosby hit he took in the Islanders loss on Sunday night.  He seemed to have a pretty good case for this one.

The Islanders must keep Cal Clutterbuck (Eyes On Isles)

Clutterbuck brings a lot to the table, and can be a very versatile part of the team. It would be wise for the Islanders to bring him back.

    Other Stuff

Allan Walsh is right Jaroslav Halak should be traded (ESPN)

Joe McDonald thinks that Walsh is right Halak should be traded. Although, that is completely fair, how he went about blasting the Islanders on social media was not the right thing to do and it only makes the situation worse.
