Daniel Carr dangled through Bruins defense for preseason game-winner

The Bruins and Canadiens had a nice little back and forth preseason battle on Wednesday night in Quebec City, one that that was ultimately decided by the play you see below.

That sequence was equal parts awful for the Bruins and beautiful for the Canadiens. That's Habs winger Daniel Carr picking off a very ill-advised Zdeno Chara pass in the Bruins' zone and then using some slick hands to dangle through both Chara and Adam McQuaid, who both end up prone on the ice after Carr was through with them.

To cap it all off, Carr tucked the puck past Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask for a 4-3 lead that would hold until the final horn.

While it may still only be preseason, that's not a highlight that's going to make Boston fans feel too great. First of all, if there's a list of teams that Bruins fans hate getting embarrassed by -- preseason or not -- Montreal is at the top.

But considering that the Bruins' defense has been their Achilles' heel over the past few years, this is not ideal. Chara is supposed to be their rock on the blue line, but it looked more like he had a rock for brains on that costly turnover. As they scrambled to recover, both McQuaid and Chara looked like they were stuck in quicksand before being turned into roadkill by Carr. Not ideal.

Again, it's still just preseason, but it's also not promising for things to come.
