Jets reportedly have interest in recently released QB Brian Hoyer
The New York Jets have been in a holding pattern regarding their 2016 starting quarterback.
Last year's starter Ryan Fitzpatrick is still holding out hope that a team -- the Broncos or the Jets? -- give him a long-term deal after his career year. But the Jets apparently aren't sitting back and hoping Fitzpatrick decides to return.
Hours after the Texans reportedly released him, it appears the Jets have interest in veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer.
At this point in the offseason, the Jets have Geno Smith and Bryce Petty as their only options at quarterback. The defending champion Broncos are also in need of some depth at quarterback after losing Brock Osweiler to the Texans.
Hoyer played in 11 games last year, throwing for 2,606 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
