Whose status in question for Sunday’s week 5 game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Houston Texans and which players will be sitting on the sidelines?

Injuries have played a major part in the seasons of the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings to this point. Both squads have found their star players hurt and forced to find a way to win football games without them.

Now, these two banged-up teams will go head-to-head on Sunday, October 9, 2016. Considering the major losses between the two franchises coming into this game, the health of the players involved will likely be a major factor in determining who walks out of U.S. Bank Stadium with the win.

NFL.com put together a list of the injury reports for the two teams in a recent post, so let’s take a look at who will be on the sidelines, who might miss the game, and who should be on the field during week 5.

For the Vikings, the only real surprise is that Stefon Diggs is likely to miss the game. Diggs has been a huge part of the Minnesota Vikings offense during the 2016 season and has emerged as a favorite target for quarterback Sam Bradford.

Another noticeable loss for the Vikings is that right tackle Andre Smith has already been ruled out. Last week, Jeremiah Sirles stepped in for him and did a great job, so Minnesota is likely hoping that he can continue to hold down the position.

For Houston, their list doesn’t look too bad. With only two players listed as doubtful or out for the game, and both of them being on offense, the #1 pass defense of the Texans should give the Minnesota Vikings fits during the game on Sunday.
