Chicago Bears Getting High End Tailgating Options

Chicago Bears fans will have some high end tailgating options coming to Soldier Field this season.

If you’ve ever been to a Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field, you know that tailgating is a vital part of the experience.  In recent years, especially since Soldier Field’s renovation in 2003, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to secure a tailgating spot and host your own tailgating party.  Thanks to a partnership with Arena Partners, there will be a few different options to help Bears fans looking to get their tailgate on with a lot less hassle.

It’s not enough to bring out the Smokey Joe grill and a six-pack of Miller Lite anymore.  Tailgating spreads have gotten quite elaborate.  Longtime tailgaters take serious pride in their setups.  I’ve seen pickup trucks with a pair of recliners and a big screen with a satellite dish in the back.  I’ve seen white tablecloths and champagne all the way down to a couple of dudes with a bag of tortilla chips and a bottle of tequila.  The range of tailgating spreads is as diverse as the fan base.

Arena Partners has a few different offerings for fans depending on how deep your pockets are. If you’ve got some cash to burn or someone to impress, you can go for the Elite Tailgate Experience, which is basically a pre-game skybox.  For $179 plus applicable fees, you get the following:

    Socialize in luxury.

The The Arena Club provides exclusive access to our 5,000 square foot party zone, featuring signature cocktails, gourmet cuisine, private seating areas, entertainment, and warming zones. There is simply no better tailgate experience available at any price.

This replaces a similar 50-foot trailer that they had at the Adler Planetarium last season.

If gourmet cuisine and warming zones aren’t your thing, you can go for the Kickoff Tailgate Party which might be more your speed:

So for about $60 (or $80 if you opt for the premium bar package) you get all you can eat tailgating food – I hear it’s beef sandwiches, Italian sausage, Chicago style dogs, pizza by the slice, salads, chips and pretzels and all you can drink beer and wine (or soft drinks for the kids and designated drivers of course!) for three hours before kickoff.

That sounds like a great pre-game ritual at a reasonable price.  By the time you buy a parking pass and just buy the food, this party has you covered.  Believe it or not, you can still get tickets for Monday night or any of the other home dates.

If you’re feeling extra hospitable, you can host your own party.  They’ll set you up with a parking spot, a tent, table and chairs, even the cooler and ice.  You just insert beer and friends and you’re good to go.

It sounds like these guys take the hassle out of the tailgating experience or provide one for people who want to take public transportation to the game.  I know next time I head down to Soldier Field, I’ll be checking this out.
