Wolves' Love leaves game with groin injury

Published Mar. 20, 2011 5:52 p.m. ET

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love left the game against Sacramento in the second quarter with an injury to his left groin.

Love appeared to get injured early in the second period when he winced in pain and had trouble getting up and down the court. He went straight to the locker room when he was replaced with 3:18 to play in the first half and the team said he would not return.

Love was scoreless with just three rebounds in 14 minutes. He was honored before the game by Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor for his 53 straight double-doubles, a streak that ended against Golden State last week. It is the longest such streak since 1973-74.
