Will Tony Parker bounce back next season?

Tony Parker is coming off one of the worst seasons of his Hall of Fame career. Most of his per game averages were the lowest since his rookie year, and his disappointing playoff performance stands as a big reason the San Antonio Spurs couldn't get out of the first round.

Considering he just signed a three-year extension that doesn't expire until 2018, this is especially bad news for the Spurs. But is there any chance Parker bounces back in the future? Bleacher Report's Stephen Babb takes a look:

"Injuries to his ankle and Achilles may be largely responsible for Parker's forgettable performance against the Los Angeles Clippers. Something was clearly amiss. The six-time All-Star seemed more like a role player during the opening round, averaging just 10.9 points and 3.6 assists against a far superior Chris Paul. Some outings were more painful than others, and the few signs of life were all for naught. Parker scored a combined 38 points in Games 4 and 7—both losses."

Parker had several injuries throughout the regular season, and a few meaningful ones in the playoffs. His hamstring gave him (and San Antonio) real problems early on, but if he can stay healthy in the future, there's no reason to believe he can't still be one of the 10 most effective point guards in the league.

Parker isn't young, but 33 years old doesn't make him ancient, either.
