WATCH: DeMarcus Cousins, George Karl share awkward handshake

DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl made contact with one another at an NBA Summer League game on Monday, and there was no word of one man’s fist hitting the other’s face.

Karl came up to Cousins and shared a somewhat awkward handshake with him.

None of the events that have taken place this offseason give us any reason to believe these two like each other. Karl was desperately trying to trade Cousins at one point (and may still be), and even Kings management has admitted that the relationship between the two is not good. We also can’t forget about that snake in the grass emoji that Cousins tweeted.

I’m no body language expert, but it sure seemed like Cousins was snubbing Karl a bit. It was almost like he was saying, “Here, have a seat, I was just leaving anyway.”

In any event, it should be noted that Cousins hung out with his new teammate Rajon Rondo for a while and chatted with Kings ownership. All indications are that Cousins is staying in Sacramento, so we could be entering the very early stages of Karl and his best player trying to work out their differences.
