Watch Arron Afflalo down the Hawks with 38 points on 17 shots
Arron Afflalo should provide a reminder that not all players in their prime years who have a down year are on a constant downward trajectory. Afflalo had arguably the worst year of his career last season, splitting it between the Nuggets and Trail Blazers. After signing with the Knicks this offseason, though, he's bounced back.
Afflalo is hardly at the almost-All-Star levels he was at a few years ago in Orlando, but he has returned to competence, dominating from midrange and hitting corner threes acceptably.
His performance against the Hawks on Sunday was one for the ages, though: 38 points on 14-of-17 shooting. Check it out:
Afflalo is only the ninth Knick in franchise history to attempt at least 17 field goals and to shoot at least 80 percent from the field in the process. But the other eight times it's been done, it hasn't been while chucking up threes. Afflalo, meanwhile, went 7-of-8 from behind the line.
