Warriors GM believes Golden State is not a dynasty
The Golden State Warriors have sky-high expectations this season after they added Kevin Durant to a team that was already nearly impossible to stop offensively. Golden State has one championship under its belt and the regular-season record for wins, each an impressive feat.
But if you ask Warriors general manager Bob Myers, Golden State has not yet reached the rarefied air of some of the best teams in NBA history.
"Although we get a lot of notoriety, we are not a dynasty," Myers said in an interview with The Vertical. "We did not win five championships. We won one. I think that sometimes people assume that we have this air of success; we really don't. We've had two good years and one championship. So we're reminding ourselves, we haven't figured anything out."
The Warriors were close to claiming their second consecutive title, but instead became the first team in Finals history to blow a 3-1 series lead. With Durant still searching for his first title, Golden State will have even more motivation to reclaim the championship.
