Warriors cap ridiculous offseason, reportedly sign the ever-bizarre JaVale McGee
The Warriors signed Kevin Durant this offseason, but after seeing Mo Speights leave town to sign a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, they were in the market for a strange, inscrutable center.
According to a report, they signed that center Friday.
JaValle McGee, who played 34 games for the Mavericks last year, scoring five points per contest, will join the Warriors for training camp with a chance to make the team, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
McGee is one of the most athletic 7-footers in the league, but he's also one of the strangest. He's averaged 8.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his career, but he's as likely to end up on the blooper reel as the highlight reel.
Should McGee make the team, he'd backup starting center Zaza Pachulia alongside Anderson Varejao. Forward David West, who signed a minimum-value contract this summer, could also play center in a smallball lineup.
