Oladipo ruled out against the Hawks

“With Oladipo sidelined, the Thunder has started both Jerami Grant and Anthony Morrow with mixed results. Overall, Oklahoma City is 1-2 without its second-leading scorer in the lineup. While the Thunder was defeated handily by Portland and Utah sans Oladipo, Oklahoma City trounced Phoenix 114-101 Saturday night.”

Gosh darnit. I travel 12 hours to watch the Thunder, and I don’t even get to watch Oladipo in person. On the bright side, that means Russell Westbrook will probably be other-wordly again. The Hawks are 3-7 in their last ten games after a hot start to the season, so this game is winnable for OKC. But will they pull it off? I think so.

    Josh Huestis recalled from D-League

“Huestis, the Thunder‘s first-round draft pick in 2014, has made just five regular-season appearances at the NBA level in his two-plus seasons with the team, with none coming so far in 2016-17. Mainly a defensive specialist, Huestis’ poor shooting at the D-League level suggests he may not offer enough of an impact on the other end to ever see consistent playing time in the NBA.”

The article says nothing about Huestis being recalled, but it gives you a good idea of how he’s playing for the OKC Blue. Sadly, his offensive game is not up to the expectations that the Thunder want to see. With Dipo out tonight, Billy Donovan may be looking to play Huestis tonight against a bigger Atlanta team; we’ll have to see.
