Timberwolves Social: Cedric Hall was the real winner tonight

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Timberwolves lost to the Hornets, 86-98, but the real winner was a Timberwolves Fan from Charlotte.

The preseason coverage for the Timberwolves has been off to a rough start. Timberwolves fans were unable to watch the games on their preferred platform: television.

To make matters worse, Timberwolves fans outside of Minnesota were unable to listen to the radio play-by-play on the WCCO website.

And then, a miracle happened. Cedric Hall, a Timberwolves fan from Charlotte who sat in Row C, Seat 13 at The Hive, stepped up to the Twitter plate and knocked it out of the blogosphere. That’s right: he literally knocked it out of the blogosphere, live streaming the blackout game on Periscope.

“I knew there would be a lot of fans, that would wanna see the game. So I figured it’d be cool to share it,” he said in an exclusive interview with Dunking With Wolves.

The reactions from Wolves fans on Twitter has been nothing short of praise:

From Wile E Coyote:

From Leo S:

From Yosup Kim:

From ZachEmmannuel:

The Wolves blogosphere had a similar, and equally flattering, reaction.

From Brad Omland:

From Howlin’ T-Wolf:

The Howlin’ T-Wolf praised Cedric, and, like us, went a step further. We proactively retweeted Cedric’s streams, ensuring Timberwolves fans on Twitter had equal access to the blackout game without worrying about malware.

Tonight, the Timberwolves did not play their best basketball. There is no question about that. As a result the Timberwolves were handed their first preseason loss, but we were able to see the loss, like we were there, thanks to an unlikely hero.

His name is Cedric Hall, and he was the real winner of tonight’s game–the MVP who periscoped perhaps the best gem of this preseason:

Laugh Out Loud, Timberwolves fans. And say Thank You to this man.
