Thunder Training Camp: The Picnic that Changed the Season
Thunder training camp began Friday, but the festivities began with a team picnic on Thursday. That team picnic may have just solidified OKC a top four seed…
How can’t you love this team?
I'm asking the same question Lol!!

Two quick things about that video.
Media day is today, but Thunder training camp got started a day earlier. OKC got together for a team picnic yesterday; without the wonderful Kanter we would have had no clue.

Ugh this Bromance is going to be amazing to watch this season.
ANYWAYS, in this video Kanter mentions that the Stache Bros are “going to a picnic with the team.” In the slide video, he uses “#TeamPicnic.” But after scouring through anyone and everyone associated with the team, I was unable to find any mention of a team picnic. Not even the team’s official account.
There’s only one explanation. The Thunder have a secret. I don’t want to know it. And neither should you.
This all boils back to Sam Presti. Presti is a R.C. Buford disciple, so mysteriousness is in his DNA. But why keep something like this so under-the-radar?
More from Thunderous Intentions
The Thunder are a team built on community. Whether that’s volunteering at schools or taking kids Christmas shopping, OKC has always promoted a positive image. Marketing that picnic would only increase fan’s feelings towards the team. It would show fans that the team is close despite KD. Maybe even closer because of his departure.
But no. They swept it under the rug. This team must have something special planned this season.
They say basketball team’s take their identity from the team’s best player. If that’s true, the entire roster spent all summer plotting how to take down KD and the Warriors. We know that’s what Russ did.
This “picnic” must have been the team’s last chance to meet privately. They had to ensure that everyone was prepared to go public. That everyone understood what was expected of them. That everyone was ready to shock the world.
