Thunder send Hayward back to D-League

Published Mar. 17, 2012 11:12 p.m. ET

The Oklahoma City Thunder have assigned forward Lazar Hayward to their NBA Development League affiliate in Tulsa for the second time this month.

Hayward was sent back to the 66ers on Saturday, after he had played meaningful minutes against San Antonio a night earlier. He played 8 1/2 minutes against the Spurs, missing all three of his shots and committing two fouls.

Hayward's previous stint in Tulsa came at the beginning of the month, when he was rehabbing after missing two weeks with an orbital floor fracture suffered when he was poked in his left eye.

He averaged 28 points and seven rebounds during that two-game stint in Tulsa.
