This summer could bring big changes for the Suns' front office

Two of the three main figureheads of the Phoenix Suns' front office/coaching staff are facing uncertain futures. President Lon Babby's contract expires at the end of June, while coach Jeff Hornacek has just one guaranteed remaining year on his. Will both be extended? Should they be? Dave King of Bright Side of the Sun has some thoughts.

"Babby, now 64 years old, may be ready to step away or take a lesser role going forward to spend more time with his family, who are still primarily back east. Or, he might want to ride this out until the Suns get back to the playoffs."

"Guaranteeing Hornacek's 2016-17 season would be the first step to showing confidence in his future on the Phoenix sideline, and an extension would add the exclamation point. "

The outcomes of both of these situations hinges on managing partner Robert Sarver's decisions. Sarver doesn't exactly have the best reputation when it comes to spending on his team, so it'll be interesting to see if he bucks that trend to keep two key pieces that have led the Suns out of the "dark ages" in a very short amount of time. Hornacek, for his part, is a rising star among coaches, and it would be shocking the Suns let him walk or at the very least didn't guarantee more years on his contract.
