This NBA veteran badly wants Isaiah Thomas in the All-Star game

Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas is having an incredible season. Standing 5'9", he's averaging 21.8 points, 6.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. Only five players in the entire NBA have made more free throws.
So, according to simple logic, Thomas deserves to make his first All-Star game. You know who agrees with simple logic? Houston Rockets point guard Jason Terry, who penned this article for The Player's Tribune about why Thomas needs an invite:
I remember one night when I came home late after playing ball — it was like 9 p.m., so it was dark out — and I walked into the house and heard something banging against the side of the house outside. I was thinking, Is someone trying to break in? It was little Isaiah. He was shooting around by himself in the dark, throwing passes to himself off the side of the house. I used to be that guy in the neighborhood, out late, playing until the street lights came on. But he took it to another level, and that will always stick with me. That’s the work ethic he’s always had, and still has today. That’s why he’s been able to do what he’s done.
Thomas' individual statistics are obviously quite impressive, but they're also incredibly valuable and directly lead to Celtic victories more times than not. Boston's offense averages only 94.5 points per 100 possessions with Thomas on the bench, but that number shoots up to 104.9 when he's on the court. This is the difference between the NBA's sixth and 29th-ranked offensive units.
Thomas is a monster, and an All-Star invite feels inevitable.
