There's no reason to panic in Houston
The Rockets had a chance to sweep the depleted and reeling Mavericks in Dallas last night, but couldn't shut the door. Instead, just about everything went wrong.
James Harden and Josh Smith had tremendous games, but Dwight Howard only attempted seven field goals and was abysmal from the free-throw line. Jason Terry scored three points on five shots and Trevor Ariza missed all five of his threes.
But according to Darren Yuvan of the Rockets blog The Dream Shake, Houston has nothing to worry about.
"The Rockets performance, consequently, featured a slew of series worsts. Houston shot only 22 percent from downtown, snagged only 7 offensive rebounds and 38 total rebounds, scored only 4 second-chance points and shot only 65 percent from the line, including an abhorrent 3 - 13 performance from Dwight Howard. Cause for concern you may ask? One game does not make a trend, and the Rockets are still taking a commanding 3 - 1 series lead back to their home floor for another chance to move on to the semis."
None of this is wrong. As bad as Game 4 was, Houston will have its home crowd going bananas in Game 5. Dallas is still banged up and Chandler Parsons isn't walking through that door.
