The Boston Celtics have no idea what their rotation will look like in 2016

The Boston Celtics do not have a superstar, or even one player on their roster who's capable of making an All-Star team this season (Isaiah Thomas can slither into the conversation, but it's unlikely).

What they do have is depth. Lots and lots of depth; more than 10 players who can provide reliable production in limited minutes. But Celtics head coach Brad Stevens says that on most nights he doesn't want to stretch his rotation beyond 10 guys, which means someone who expects to play will not.

Who it'll be will depend on match-ups and other factors, but right now Stevens (and Danny Ainge) has no idea who will receive a bulk of the playing time, per MassLive:

Boston's frontcourt is crowded, mostly with veterans who're in contract years. Things could get uncomfortable if the Celtics aren't winning and certain guys aren't playing as much as they think they should.

But Stevens isn't one to panic, and as long as he's honest with everyone on the roster there shouldn't be too big of a problem. Especially if they grab hold of the Atlantic Division.

The coach noted he would like to figure things out "sooner rather than later," but said he would not have a decision by Sept. 29 when the team holds an intrasquad scrimmage. Ainge added that while last year some guys were locked into starting spots, "I think this year it's wide open." "It's going to be not only who plays best, it's going to be who fits best, who makes other people better," Stevens said. "If you can be a guy that when you play with Isaiah spreads the floor and lifts his game, that's a big impactful thing. If you can be a guy when you play with some of our post guys that has to be guarded on the perimeter or is a great cutter, that's a big impactful thing. So we'll figure all that out. Obviously, this is what I think about every single minute of every single day. So I'm as anxious as anybody to see how it separates itself."
