Terry compares Harden to Dirk
Jason Terry has a championship ring, earned during the 2011 season as one of the best offensive players on the Dallas Mavericks.
He knows what it takes to win it all, and he knows a superstar when he sees one. Here's what Terry told the Houston Chronicle's Brian T. Smith about the similarities he sees between James Harden and his former teammate Dirk Nowitzki:
“I see a lot of Dirk (in) where James is at in his career, as far as guys challenging him to be more of a vocal leader. You can see his hard work. You can see that he can do it by example. But him being more vocal, that’s something that Dirk had to learn and work through. But it took frustration through the playoff losses and it took that type of adversity to find the leadership from within.”
Very few people expected Dallas to win it all in 2011, and arguably fewer feel that way about the Houston Rockets today. But this team has veteran leadership, outside shooting and two bonafide superstars.
If Harden can, as Terry says, become more of a vocal leader on and off the floor, why can't the Rockets become champions?
