The NBA Draft always features some surprising early entrance decisions from top college players, and one of the more interesting ones this year was the decision of UNC forward J.P. Tokoto to throw his name in the ring

In an article by Sports Illustrated writer Daniel Wilco, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams admitted that he wasn’t a huge fan of the decision.

“I did tell him I didn’t think it was the smartest decision,” Williams said. “But he felt strongly that that’s what he wanted to do, so I told him I would support him.”

The veteran-laden Tar Heels are considered a favorite in 2015-16, but their rotation would have been even deeper and more talented with the high-flying Tokoto on the court.

Draft Express has Tokoto going 43rd to the Indiana Pacers in their most recent mock draft. He is generally thought of as a likely second-round pick during next week’s NBA Draft.
