The Houston Rockets have taken Iowa State forward Royce White with the 16th pick in the NBA draft, their second of three first-round selections.

The 6-foot-8, 270-pound White initially enrolled at Minnesota, then transferred to Iowa State, where he played his lone college season. He averaged 13.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and five assists per game last season.

Earlier, the Rockets selected Connecticut guard Jeremy Lamb at No. 12, a pick they nabbed in a trade with Milwaukee this week. The 6-5 Lamb entered the draft after just two college seasons. He averaged 17.7 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Huskies last year and became just the sixth sophomore in Connecticut history to score 1,000 career points (1,060).
