Finally, some good news in Lamar Odom's life for a change.

The troubled NBA star whose career and marriage appear to be in a state of flux was in Los Angeles City Attorney's office Monday, according to multiple reports. And while he did reportedly receive quite a talking to, the good news is he won't go to jail.

According to TMZ, the meeting was to discuss the bizarre July incident in which Odom allegedly and rather calmly damaged equipment belonging to a member of the paparazzi on the streets of Hollywood.

E! Online managed to get somebody on the record, LA spokesperson Frank Mateljan telling the site that while Odom no longer faces criminal charges for the incident, the 33-year-old "was 'admonished' for his alleged behavior and the City Attorney 'advised him on how to go forward.'"

TMZ added that sources "connected with Lamar" said the former Laker and Clipper agreed to anger management counseling.

With the legal action apparently now in the rear view, civil action may still be in play. According to E! Online, the paparazzo, Stefan Saad, still has a civil suit filed in September pending against Odom. He reportedly is seeking more than $500,000 in total.

It has been a very tumultuous few months for Odom.

He was charged with driving under the influence in August, a charge to which he pleaded not guilty in October. Also in October, he reportedly met with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, in what was described as a "last straw" for their marriage.

He also gave a bizarre interview during which he claimed he was invited to the engagement party for Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, and reports surfaced he is talking comeback with the Lakers.

Here is some of that interview.
