Report: Washington to sign Jaleel Roberts

The Washington Wizards spent their offseason downsizing their roster. They signed Jared Dudley to play some stretch four and invested on the wing with guys like Alan Anderson, Gary Neal and Kelly Oubre Jr..

But no matter how fast the league drifts to the perimeter, seven footers will always be important. With that in mind, the Wizards have reportedly brought one in on a non-guaranteed contract.

Jaleel Roberts averaged 7.0 points (on 61.4 percent shooting), 5.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game his senior season, but his numbers were nothing to write home about over the previous three years.

Washington already has 15 guaranteed contracts on the books for 2016, so there's a very small chance Roberts makes the final roster on opening day. But if they move someone (Garrett Temple has been involved in trade rumors) then it's possible the Wizards keep Roberts and his non-guaranteed contract around.
