Miami Heat President Pat Riley prepped for his meeting with LeBron James in Cleveland by meeting with the free-agent star's agent Thursday night, The Plain Dealer reported.

Riley is scheduled to meet Friday in downtown Cleveland with James, who met with representatives of the New Jersey Nets and New York Nets on Thursday.

The newspaper reported Riley and agent Leon Rose talked for approximately 45 minutes late Thursday night at a hotel.

The Heat delegation, which included VP Nick Arison and coach Erik Spoelstra, began its day with an early morning meeting in Los Angeles with Amare Stoudemire. They were also in Chicago for discussions with free agent Chris Bosh of the Raptors.
