Report: Magic's Victor Oladipo undergoing concussion protocol

Published Nov. 16, 2015 11:38 p.m. ET

For the first time in his life, Victor Oladipo is dealing with the symptoms of a concussion. And the patience required to recover from such an injury isn't exactly something the Orlando Magic guard is used to.

According to a report from Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, Oladipo is undergoing the NBA's concussion protocol and is just now being able to go back to the team's practice facilities after initially having to stay away from Amway Center and avoid bright lights:

Oladipo has missed two games with the concussion. The Magic's next game is on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is currently limited to working out on a stationary bike, with tests involving jogging, agility and non-contact basketball drills to come, assuming he stays healthy.

"It's getting better, so I'm just glad to be back in the gym around the fellas again," Oladipo said. "So I'm looking forward to getting back on the floor and helping them.

"It just tests your patience, honestly. You've just got to be patient and let your body heal, let your mind heal. You don't want to let your mind run too much. That's what I've been trying to do the past couple of days. I'm just looking forward to getting back out there and helping my team out. I don't like watching, especially feeling like I can't help."
