Report: Celtics sign Amir Johnson to two-year, $24 million contract

The Boston Celtics have numerous holes in their frontcourt, and it appears they've found a player who can help fill them.

Amir Johnson is 6'9" and a long defender who's only 28 years old. He averaged 9.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last year.

He's also an absolute steal on a contract that's just two years long (and presumably paying only around $12 million next season). Johnson can play center or power forward, knock down open jump shots and finish around the basket (he converted 70.1 percent of all attempts within three feet of the rim last season, per Basketball-Reference).

The Celtics still need a star to lead them to the promise land, but Johnson is a productive, consistent basketball player who plays a position Boston was previously weak in. This is a great signing.
