Rasual Butler wants to re-sign with the Wizards

After a surprisingly productive season with the Washington Wizards, journeyman forward Rasual Butler wants to re-sign with the team this offseason.

Butler, 36, signed with the Wizards last year on a non-guaranteed, one-year deal. Due to injuries to Martell Webster and Bradley Beal, Butler stuck on and ended up being a major rotation player during the regular season, appearing in 75 games while averaging 7.7 points in 20 minutes a night.

Here's what Butler told Ben Standig of CSNWashington.com:

"This is a promising team. If John [Wall] was healthy, I'm sure we would be still playing," Butler said during his time with the media on Monday's breakdown day. "This is a great group of guys, a great coaching staff, a great organization. I absolutely would love to return."
