NEW ORLEANS (AP) All-Star forward Anthony Davis is questionable to return to the Pelicans' game against Phoenix after being elbowed in the throat by the Suns' Earl Barron.

The team says Davis has a throat contusion.

Davis and Barron got tangled near the basket when Barron's elbow caught Davis in the throat with 11:45 to play in the first half. Davis immediately clutched his throat and was aided into the locker room by a member of New Orleans' staff.

Davis had 13 points and four rebounds. The Pelicans were leading by six when he departed.
