Pelicans' Dante Cunningham suspended 1 game for traffic stop

NEW YORK (AP) The NBA has suspended New Orleans Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham one game without pay for pleading guilty in the state of Washington to ''operating a motor vehicle while exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol.''

Cunningham, who was cited for suspicion of DUI in Clark County, Washington in June, was ordered to serve the suspension Friday night at home against the Phoenix Suns.

The ninth-year pro is averaging 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
