Oklahoma City Thunder Weekly Roundup, Edition Five

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:42 p.m. ET

It’s Friday! You know what that means? Oklahoma City Thunder basketball at the ‘Peake, and of course, the OKC Thunder weekly roundup by Heather Koontz!

The Beard Has Emotions

James Harden, who many think is in the running alongside Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook for this year’s MVP, was recently asked about his relationship with his former teammate and now-competitor. Surprisingly, he had nothing but love for #0.

“Every night, he brings it and he wills his team to win. He literally has to do everything. I think we can all appreciate the passion he has for the game and the love that he has. Like I said, he’s a joy to watch, just because of the passion and the aggression he has. That’s what makes him who he is.”

Love him or hate him, at least Harden has that right.

Enes Kanter Has Even More Emotions

In the event you’ve been living under a rock the past few days, you may be unaware that Enes Kanter has a broken arm. It didn’t happen in some kind of on-court rumble, it wasn’t the result of a monumental dunk. No, he broke his forearm slapping a chair during the Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks game on Jan. 26.

Many claim he embarrassed himself and cost his team their season. To which, Kanter said: “Mistakes happens and we just got to learn from it and control your emotions.”

Regardless, I want to know where that anger was when Zaza Pachulia went after Westbrook a few weeks ago. Thoughts, Enes?

Major Publisher Recognizes Brilliance

Did you catch The New York Times Magazine’s feature about Russell Westbrook? It’s a beast – nearly 10,000 words. But, don’t let the length scare you. If you enjoy learning more about the mind of your favorite players, grab some coffee, get cozy, and start reading.

More from Thunderous Intentions

How else are you going to find out that Westbrook actually pays his own bills? That, and many more quirks, are waiting for you to read (after you finish reading this article, of course).

    Sharing is Caring

I’m a Presti fan. And, I know I’m not alone in that. But, Thunderous Intentions writer Joshua Lea does raise some good points about the GM in his article. Check it out and decide Presti’s fate for yourself.
