New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony Attends US Open

New York Knicks star and recently crowned three-time Olympic gold medalist Carmelo Anthony attended the 2016 US Open in Flushing, Queens.

Carmelo Anthony has transcended basketball and entered the tiers of global fame, notoriety, and influence. The New York Knicks star has always been popular, but he reached new heights by winning a record third Olympic gold medal.

Now a legendary Olympian, Anthony showed his vast appreciation for sports culture by attending one of the most diverse events in the world.

The US Open is currently being held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens. Thus, it comes as no surprise that a superstar Knick chose to take in the event.

Anthony looked none too pleased with the results, but did indeed take in the US Open.

One of the greatest events in sports.

Entering, Tuesday, September 6, only eight male players remain. Novak Djokovic will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Lucas Pouille will battle Gael Monfils, Juan Martin del Potro will face Stanislas Wawrinka, and Kei Nishikori will face Andy Murray.

Rafael Nadal went down in the fourth round and Roger Federer missed the tournament due to injury.

On the women’s side, it’s also down to eight. Serena Williams will face Simona Halep, Ana Konjuh will face Karolina Pliskova, Caroline Wozniacki will see Anastasija Sevastova, and Roberta Vinci will face Angelique Kerber.

Williams is chasing what would be a record-setting 23rd Grand Slam title.

Anthon was in attendance for one of the most explosive days in recent US Open history. Venus Williams lost a third set tiebreak, del Potro advanced past Dominic Thiem, and the unranked Konjuh shocked Agnieszka Radwanska.

The Anthony family was able to witness one of the most eventful days of the Grand Slam season in Flushing, Queens.

In mere weeks, that drama will translate back to the NBA as Anthony attempts to lead the Knicks back to the playoffs.
